The position of BHC is that academic reflection and research has to address the dilemmas faced by policy makers, managers and practitioners, and must offer a helpful contribution to the resolution of these dilemmas. This stance has been reflected in Bob’s publications, which straddle academic writing, research and consultancy reports, and short topical contributions to the major house journals across health, social care and beyond.
The publications in national and international refereed journals span the
last twenty years, and have explored many aspects of partnership and integration.

Academic Publications
Academic research should provide the basis for evidence based policy and practice,
and effective consultancy needs to draw upon applied research and academic
reflection. The lengthy list of research and consultancy projects that Bob
has been involved in bear testimony to his commitment to linking research,

Research & Consultancy Reports
Busy managers and practitioners may have little time to read academic publications
or research reports, and it is important that concise and accessible accounts
of issues and ideas are available to them. Bob has made it part of his stock-in-trade
to write such shorter pieces in a wide range of weekly ‘house’ journals,
and has been doing so for the past 35 years.
